This post by Euan Semple, which is an expression of moral relativism, feels both elementally true to me - but also a dangerous way to think about one of the things he mentions: Facebook.

It feels, at some level, that it lets the people in charge off … microblog.onemanandhisblog.com/2020/02/21/thi…

One to grab and play with #interhacktives, especially if you’re on Facebook for HP/IN or ⁦@Interhacktives⁩: facebook.com/facebookmedia/…

So. Here it is. A newsletter, free to subscribe, but there’s an option to tip me a wee bit of money if you feel so inclined. (You probably shouldn’t do that yet.)

Early adopters, fans of my meaty brain thinks, and pity subscribes head here:

It’s about embracing complexity, through the lens of a middle-aged man trying to figure out what’s next - for him, for his family, and for the world in general, in the face of threats so complex many people hide from them.

And yes, it is a response to the era of polarisation…

A few weeks ago I ran a poll on here, asking which newsletter I should try writing. The vote was overwhelmingly for “One Man’s Midlife Crisis”, but I couldn’t quite bring myself to call it that.

So, instead, I’m calling it Coffee and Complexity. (cont/)

I’m on the move today, but here’s a quick engaged reading digest, covering research on the general election on social and search, the BBC on the dark web — and more creamy TikTok content…

Right, just spent a while adding all the additional recommendations to my podcasts for journalists list. Here is the epic work: onemanandhisblog.com/journalism-pod…

Recommendations still welcome!

@wagatwe Could well be. Newsletters often don’t show up well in referrer logs.

@FraZaffarano t.co/JipTRmWZR…

Fascinating. Seriously high volumes - many times my normal daily traffic - to this post about Spotify and podcast. But all of it is “dark traffic” - undetectable referrer source.

I wonder where it’s coming from.
