Allegedly.

@Phillips_Iain @Jonny_Singer Thank you. You answered my question - indirectly, but you answered it.
And that’s why what’s happening today is so frightening.
@M_IsardMcNulty @MrsBowTieUK Bowties ARE cool.
@Phillips_Iain @Jonny_Singer And to be clear, here. I believe that we should leave the EU, respecting the Referendum. But I think Johnson’s action today is a direct assault on Parliamentary Democracy.
@Phillips_Iain @Jonny_Singer Let me simplify the question: Which is more important to you:
(a) Leaving the EU (b) Protecting British Parliamentary Democracy
I’m not asking you to choose between them, just to express which is more important. (a) or (b)
@Phillips_Iain @Jonny_Singer I notice you didn’t answer my question.
Brexiteer in 2016: Let’s leave the EU in a managed way to restore Parliamentary Sovereignty. Brexiteer in 2019: Let’s suspend Parliament to deliver No Deal Brexit. Brexiteer in 2022: …?
@Phillips_Iain @Jonny_Singer So, to be clear, you’re saying Leaving is more important than the British parliamentary system?
@Jonny_Singer @Phillips_Iain Literally that.
In 2016, a core argument of the Leave campaign was restoring the sovereignty of the British Parliament. This is undermining the sovereignty of the British Parliament. This is a betrayal of the Leave vote.
@niamh_mcintyre Time to update my slides on use of memetic imagery in politics. Previously all the most egregious examples were US-based.
And so ends British democracy. It had a good few centuries, but had been ill for some years. bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politi…

@benwhitelaw Thank, Ben. Hope all is going well at the engagement coalface.
@psmith To be fair, you get those pieces on what @jack’s slight cough means for social media marketing, so YO isn’t even the most egregious example.
@psmith You’re absolutely right. YO way anything could ever be better…
Today’s big question: can I ever forgive @MarcelaKunova for letting through a “Can xxxx sav journalism” headline through in 2019? It’s like 2008 all over again… 😉 journalism.co.uk/news/tiktok-of…
