@MarcSettle It’s partially by comparison to the GoPro Hero 7 Black which is a joy to use (especially compared to earlier GoPros - influence of that Apple designer they poached?)
@MarcSettle Yes - the screen is so tiny, it’s hard to be confident of what you’re capturing, and the UI is taking some getting used to. You can deal with a lot of it by attaching it to your phone, but that defeats some of the portability.
@MarcSettle It’s handy, and I will get lots of use out of it. But it’s not fun to use.

@ernohannink I think what sticks in my craw is banging on about his “authenticity” while glossing over that whole aspect of his life. That’s hypocrisy pure and simple, not just a hard-working entrepreneur with life balance problems.
@ernohannink And it must be hard to adjust between the artificial reality of your sponsored trips and the hard grind of family life. But there is something jarring about someone slowly wiping their family from their profile while claiming “authenticity”.
@ernohannink Oh, it has something to do with it, just as some jobs have higher divorce rates than others. Hard to maintain that influencer gloss with three children in tow.
Imagine my surprise to discover that an “influencer” who had vaguely intersected with the area I live has managed to lose a wife and three children on his way to social media success. Just imagine. So much of that culture is utterly toxic. Yet, this is the new aspiration.
