On the road again: microblog.onemanandhisblog.com/2022/09/13/on-…
@pavan_mahal You both look amazing!
@pavan_mahal Congratulations! I hope you had an amazing time.
iOS 16 is out. Will you be…
Back in my favourite sneaky reading spot, after the summer break. Daughter learning piano, I’m on the beach drinking coffee and reading

They’re alway there. Always above us. Always watching… t.co/Sx8zMxXXL…
@katebevan My (late) father slept out overnight to get a good spot for the Queen’s coronation. But that was a very different age, and my grandparents certainly didn’t have a TV.
Amazing mist up on the Downs this morning. t.co/pYznWc2H5…

Another great photo - the Queen (while still a princess) serving as a motor mechanic and driver during World War II. twitter.com/BritishCraftin…
@novoafricano @RGAMeyer I literally said I support and respect everyone’s right to do that. It’s right there in the tweet.
@Eleanorross102 Thanks for the warning. Will avoid for the next week.
Been doing a little selective temporary muting of people I follow. While I fully respect and support their right to express negative, hostile and even distasteful feelings or thoughts about the Queen, I really don’t need that in my feed right now.
There are days when Twitter feels like a competition where two groups compete to demonstrate who is the most ignorant about the messy complexities of history.
This is one of those days.
A lot of very recent graduates from the MA Interactive journalism at @cityjournalism have been on point for newsroom social media over the past 24 hours. Very proud of every single one of them. A big story to be handling in their first months in the job.
Here’s a photo of the Queen not seen nearly enough. A reminder that she served as a motor mechanic during World War II. autoweek.com/news/people/a4…
@corinne_podger Just reflecting my lived experience as a practicing Anglican, exploring lay ministry. We didn’t look to the Queen as the Catholics look to the Pope. Indeed, we don’t look to the ABoC in the same way.
That’s why it’s less of an issue than if the Pope passed.
@corinne_podger Well, yes, but effectively the ABoC is the real head of the Anglican communion and is the nearer parallel to the Pope. Her role was restricted to the CoE and was almost entirely ceremonial.
@Cyberwest You certainly won’t find any trace of how it’ll be paid for…
Weird. I just realised that after singing “God save the Queen” every now and then my whole life, next time it’ll be “God save the King”. And probably will be for the rest of my life.
Confession: I’ve been waiting decades for the chance to say that for real. twitter.com/adders/status/…
@BigFashionista Yeah, that one destroyed me, too.
The Queen is dead. Long live the King. bbc.co.uk/news/uk-615858…
A new PM and a new King in one week.
Nobody’s getting home early from newsrooms this week…
