@jon_pratty @johncthompson @MartinBelam In journalism, I find a lot of people believe tagging is some kind of weird SEO thing which is both untrue and unhelpful.
@ChuckWendig You’re really upping your beard game. 👌🏻
@jon_pratty @johncthompson @MartinBelam It’s usually all a matter of (a) training them in term that make sense and (b) proving the value, in my experience, at least. Many places manage to fail on both counts…
@MarcHindley Probably taking this too seriously but: the value and convenience of digital photography is overwhelmingly positive for most, over film. The relationship between print and digital is less clear-cut. Print still does some things better.
@jon_pratty @johncthompson @MartinBelam Depends how you do it, and where subs fit into a digital workflow - but bad tagging can sometimes be a flag of a confused pierce of work.
@JohnONolan @MBradbrook @catalinacma Heh. I am literally just waiting for three free-ish days in my diary to make the move. I hit a WordPress wall a few weeks ago, and I’ve had enough. (I know it won’t take that long, but I like to leave myself wiggle room. Because: experience.)
@JohnONolan @MBradbrook @catalinacma Granted.
@Suw I’m on the slippery slope to grumpy old man-hood (citation: Lorna), so I need a good empathy workout. 😉
@JohnONolan @MBradbrook @catalinacma Yeah, get right on that in all the copious free time that running an open source professional publishing platform leaves you… 😛
Not sure why I’m bothering writing on my blog today, when basically my entire audience is either at news:rewired or The Guardian’s Changing Media Summit.
@JohnONolan @MBradbrook I’ll try to let you know when @catalinacma has the next #newsrw date fixed.
Sad: but get used to seeing more headline like this. twitter.com/independent/st…
@johncthompson You will never get most journalists to do it. Bring back the subs, I say. Great role for them in the digital age. #newsrw

@francoisnel Either end of the curve is where the interesting stuff is happening - real-time (or close to it) or slow news and evergreen content.
@johncthompson @georgeprof @LauraOliver @malcolmcoles @GregHadfield Don’t con-fusilli the issue, John.
@georgeprof @LauraOliver @johncthompson @malcolmcoles @GregHadfield Possibly even more so - I see less spaghetti-throwing and more “doing what the social networks tell us” and “what’s best practice here?” than I did back then.
@ernohannink Except you can’t rely on a single channel, even if you have your own domain. You never know when they’ll turn that tap off.
