@iroughol I can sympathise with that. As someone with an English accent but whose pretty much entire childhood was in Scotland, I always identified as “British” and European more than anything. But now it appears that too many people want me to choose to be English. And I don’t want to.
Not now, Polio.
It’s a great feeling when a little bit of editorial SEO I did for my own amusement earns the featured snippet slot on Google.
Tough economic times are already hitting eco charities and sustainable businesses just at the time we need them the most. We all need to make smart choices on how we spend limited money. These are going to be difficult months. walkingwithdaddy.com/the-conservati…
@Cyberwest That and the lack on anything to sit on until recently, probably.

@tickaroo @paulbradshaw @journoreece @jamesrbuk It’s just a format. And like all formats, can be great or can be execrable depending on how it’s used.
@MarcSettle @adebradley I get the same. They have a lot of pre-Apple Silicon refurb stock they’re trying to shift, it seems. I’m not surprised. It’s price/performance ratio is not good compared to new products — and the clock is ticking on Intel Mac support.
@Pieandapint It’s interesting, isn’t it? Every single pub here in central Shoreham (which is not short of pubs, even by port town standards) has re-opened post-pandemic, and all seem to be doing well. But when I head up to London to teach at City, I see a lot of closed or near-empty venues.

@MarcSettle @thegreatgonzo Is this some soft of riff on “to me” “to you”?
@Flipping_Pages I’m actually going to be in Cheshire next month…
@callummarius Some off-peak traffic can be a kind of commuting, though. I know people who are only going in a few days a week, and who go in later to reduce costs and have a better travel experience.
@Flipping_Pages One day you can buy me a beer, and I will tell you my MailOnline stories.
But, no, this is a lovely, lovely newspaper client outside these shores.
There’s something deeply satisfying about spotting a core problem that, if addressed, could get good journalists read more.
The process feels like climbing up through a murky cloud of data, and emerging above the clouds to a glorious view from the summit.
(These tweets might be evidence that I need more sleep.)
I am deep, deep in the weeds of analysing a big site’s SEO performance, and I am having slightly too much fun for something that goes under the title “work”.
This is a very cool initiative. I’m genuinely surprised that there aren’t more associations of specialist writers than there are already. twitter.com/Britbeerwriter…
