@MarcSettle Yes!

Should your bookshelves reflect the person you are now, or should they encapsulate all the versions of you from earlier in your life?

@charlotteahenry This is Twitter. I have learnt to be eeeeeextreeeeemly careful in my phrasing, for the sake of my sanity and mentions.

@charlotteahenry I was thinking about that last night — there will eventually come a point when the most hard-core “lockdown whenever needed/zero covid” types will start to much like the most extreme “anti-lockdown/let it rip “ types did a year ago. That’s likely to be a difficult transition.

@MarcSettle @FiLMiCPro Oooh. Are you using Shortcuts to do that? Fabulous idea.

I sincerely hope we eventually reach the point where a future generation of journalists look at how their predecessors have been behaving on Twitter for the past decade and shake their heads in bewilderment.

@Simmons__ Congratulations!

John Naughton’s review of The Ugly Truth, a new book about Facebook, makes it sound like essential reading. Next on my list after I’ve finished Charles Arthur’s Social Warming. theguardian.com/books/2021/jul…

The absence of iPadOS 14.7 from last night’s round of updates is curious…

Schmigadoon! is an intensely joyful slice of TV.

@jaggeree Absolutely nothing - but mine are primary age, which seems to be leas of a oriorory than secondary.

@chrismsutcliffe And finally he said “fair enough, mate.”

And he staggered off for his slash.

@chrismsutcliffe “Well, I’m used to that,” I replied.

He looked very confused for about two minutes, periodically opening and shutting his mouth as if some great follow-up was about to emerge.

@chrismsutcliffe True story: some years ago I was reading on my iPad in the local pub, when a drunk bloke on his way to the loos lurched up to me, peered at me, and then declared “that thing makes you look like a cock, mate,” in quite an aggressive way.
