Just for avoidance of doubt, I’m wearing masks on the London Underground for the rest of my natural, ‘cos that place is minging.
I’d be a lot happier if a small fraction of the time spent arguing about masks (a tactical intervention) were spent campaigning for the strategic win of hugely improving the ventilation of indoor spaces. twitter.com/NaomiOhReally/…
Further evidence that singing classes might soon be a necessary part of journalism education.
And that my career is over, because I can’t carry a tune in a bucket. twitter.com/sophiasgaler/s…
Wow. I thought we had a shortage of people in STEM, but Twitter seems chock full of people with unexpected expertise in immunology, virology and epidemiology.
@Nicola_Slawson I bought one direct from Apple and it was still working when we eventually gave it away a decade later.
I am happy to report that, as of this weekend, all adults in my household are fully vaccinated. 💉💉
(It’s just me and Lorna, but still…)
Still, a proud achievement for British STEM teachers. 😉

@amayfield @brilliantnoise @plusxspace @Design_Week Oooh. Looks lovely. I’d love to nip round for a coffee, when such egregious luxuries become permissible again.
@Dychnel @PurpleCar @RobUsdin @lyledal Yeah, there’s a definite point around season 3 when they stop trying to be TNG on a space station and really become their own thing. And then it becomes an amazing series.

@baekdal @chrismsutcliffe @EstherKeziaT @Flipping_Pages @twistednether Here we go - November 2008. Still had a real job. No kids yet. Still lived in London. Different time: twistednether.net/2008/11/19/epi…
@baekdal @chrismsutcliffe @EstherKeziaT @Flipping_Pages Hey, it’s still going: @twistednether.
@baekdal @chrismsutcliffe @EstherKeziaT @Flipping_Pages Yup. I had to be I front of my mic at 7.30am on a Sunday morning… Bit of a shocker. And they do this all the time.
Although I did get up even earlier once to appear on a World of Warcraft podcast…
@Flipping_Pages @chrismsutcliffe Still — that’s quite a spicy allegation for what looks like a single-sourced story…
@Flipping_Pages @chrismsutcliffe It’s interesting, in an analytical sort of way, seeing how they’ve chosen to highlight the second of four items as the lead headline. And how the fact that it’s actually Moore’s diary and so more akin to an opinion piece than reporting is not well communicated on the web page.
@lesanto Yup. I try not to do it, but sometimes the anger is too much. For example, my Hancock thread from last week.
And scientists in multiple disciplines are beginning to take the threat of social media to human society very seriously indeed…

The end of @instagram as we know it, as they try to turn it into a video-centric “@tiktok_uk killer”:
