This is a depressing finding: the UK’s media still has a serious diversity problem, as highlighted by the work of @WIJ_UK and commentary by @janemartinson: onemanandhisblog.com/2020/09/britis…
@lottiecgross Entrepreneur.
Well. Interesting. I just up signed up for the Substack newsletters from people I follow on Twitter, or the ones about subjects in my bailiwick, at least. Now we find out who actually writes them, and who just signed up to play.
Interesting. You can now find Substacks written by people you follow on Twitter. substack.com/discover-twitt…
This one of those rare things, an online quiz actually worth doing. It’s a test to see if you can identify which social media accounts are real, and which were set up by disinformation organisations. And it explains the signs you should be aware of… … microblog.onemanandhisblog.com/2020/09/18/thi…

@GlenBMulcahy Do #mojo purists exist?
@MatthiasSuessen @MarcSettle Yup. I haven’t spent a night away from my daughters for work in six months now. That’s the longest stretch in their lives, I think.
@PaulOckenden It depends on how newsroom-centric their employer is, I suspect. Freelances, clearly it’s been much the same.
Journalism friends: what elements of your pandemic #journalism working experiences would you like to see carried on into the post-pandemic world (when we get there)?
@ShackletonEmily @TheSun @MetroUK Just seen the news - congratulations!
Percentage chance I would use smart glasses from Facebook: 0%

Just a reminder to folks (especially journalists) who rely on their iOS devices for work. You REALLY shouldn’t update to iOS14 this evening.
Your apps have a really good chance of not being ready. onemanandhisblog.com/2020/09/journa…
I know I’m largely a digital guy these day, but the latest issue of @CountryfileMag smells so good coming out of its subscriber envelope.
(Is new magazine smell important to anyone else, or have I just outed myself as a freak?)
@astroehlein As I use Twitter less, I find top tweets more useful - which probably isn’t the intended effect.
@stuccatora @Logitech I suspect, though, that the Air is becoming the default iPad, the plain iPad the cheapo one for your children/parents, and the Pro will be genuinely Pro, for those who need these edge technologies.
@stuccatora @Logitech I suppose I’m musing on how “pro” the Pro is going to end up. The thing that would probably swing it for me is the Promotion display, which I believe the Air is lacking.
@charlesarthur @leebryant I need to figure out how to do that, then. But I have about 8 months to do so at the current consumption rate.
