It’s encouraging to see local cafes reopening - but doing it really carefully, and only for delivery and take-away. twitter.com/shorehamlife/s…

Yes, people are still hiring. This is an opportunity to be part of an effort to rebuild local news in the UK.

Oh, the Falmouth Sea Shanty Festival is going virtual. That looks like a fun distraction. falmouth.nub.news/n/falmouth-sea…

@caitjordan97 I would like to reassure you that, after over a quarter of a century making those sorts of calls - you will still feel exactly the same way. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Ed Yong’s reporting on the pandemic for The Atlantic really is superb, like this piece on the [over-blown reporting about “a new strain”(theatlantic.com/health/archive…)] of the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

This is new to me, despite being three years old - and is quite lovely, if a little melancholy:

@laurenbravo @hannahbflynn Great piece, though.

@laurenbravo @hannahbflynn Oh, I freely admit I could be being a dick, just that I’m not feeling that sort of externalised aggression you’ve highlighted. I’m busy destroying myself internally instead (which one could argue, I would imagine, is being a dick to my family who need me not to do that…) 😉

@hannahbflynn @laurenbravo And I tend to turn that anxiety inwards not outwards.

@hannahbflynn @laurenbravo Unintentional dickery is always a possibility. True enough. So I can’t be sure.

But I’m not trying to be a dick, and I’m not feeling the way described in the article. That’s not to say that I’m not finding it hard, but its impacting me mainly in elevated levels of anxiety.

This is an interesting piece by @laurenbravo. I’ve had more people go off on one at me online in the past 2 months than in the past decade. Maybe longer. It actually makes sense, but as I’m not feeling that way, it didn’t cross my mind.
