@FraZaffarano @louisestory @fedecherubini Agreed. All the evidence suggests that journalists joining the conversation makes a massive difference to the quality and timbre of debate - but there is a distinct feeling of holding back there.
@ifenn I’ve actually found that about 90% of what I need the MacBook Pro for can be done on my iPad Pro. When another 5% is done, I may be finished with them for good.
@ifenn I’ve been using my current laptop for half of that, though. Still plenty fast enough - and I don’t fancy the new Apple keyboard much.
@ifenn I’m no longer using any of the devices in that pic.
I am really looking forward to the day when I can use @Flickr without a Yahoo login…
@ifenn Auto-tweet picks up first update of posts from before my platform move as new. And sometimes smartalecs spit them before I delete them… 😉
I really need to stop letting my blogging slip as soon as my life gets busy. It’s such an intellectually rewarding exercise for me that my life is poorer when I don’t do it.
And no, social media does not scratch the same itch at all.

So, @paulbradshaw’s organising a data journalism conference next month: onlinejournalismblog.com/2019/04/10/im-… #ddj #interhacktives
@Neuromancer @newscientist So not surprised. But I’m still shocked that they trashed the archives of @flightblogger and @RunwayGirl.
I’m really passionate about this: the journalism business should be unlocking the incredible value to be found in its archives.
There are so many benefits to this, for the costs involved. onemanandhisblog.com/2019/04/beyond…

@FraZaffarano @louisestory @fedecherubini Some smart ideas in there - but I wonder if there’s still too much “them and us”. The community feels very walled off from the journalists.

@FraZaffarano @journalismfest Right. Time to start negotiating childcare with my wife nice and early!
Interesting thread by current #interhacktives student @Cameron_W_Clark: “Working my way through today’s White Paper. The Tories' intention to regulate the internet was a major red flag […]” #onlineharms threadreaderapp.com/thread/1115226…
@Cameron_W_Clark Agreed. The law of unintended consequences is lurking in the shadows, ready to feast…
@Zahra_ZW I look at that and wonder if either none of their team have heard of gimbals and tripods, or if they’ve taken the “videos sometimes work better when less professional” idea too much to heart…
@BethAshton The settled will of the people is against tripods, Beth.
One of the things that marks somebody’s quality is the ability to say “I was wrong” - and make the case why. @OborneTweets for @openDemocracy on why he, a passionate Leaver, has reconsidered: opendemocracy.net/en/opendemocra…
